When: Spring-Summer months.
Best Sights: Beautiful rolling hills and green Swiss countryside.
Remember to Bring: Cycling gear, a good helmet and sunglasses. A cycling repair kit is also a good idea!

Where it's at

A three-hour drive from Zurich is the Canton of Bern and the Emmental region. The scenic town of Langnau is a great start point for cycling to enjoy the green beauty of rolling hills and countryside and the region's pastime.

- Check out the famous covered wooden bridges that cross the river Emme at many points along the way.

- Cheese making region of Switzerland. The area is home to Anton Wyss, World Champion Emmental Cheesemaker. He sells his cheese and you can see how it is made at his small factory in Mutten.

- Meet local alphorn makers and players who play this massive and difficult instrument you used in the past to convey messages across the mountains.

- Take a trip to a yodelling school and learn how to master the difficult art of warbling a tune
