World Café Asia has arrived! Featuring 13 destinations, packed with delicious, interesting and sometimes downright strange street food.

Whether it be sharks fin soup on a Thai street corner, or deep-fried tofu in the night markets of Taipei, our roving presenter - Bobby Chinn - takes to the streets of Asia in search of the best food markets, the most stylish hotspots, unique watering holes, and a whole lot more...

World Café Asia Premiers on Discovery Travel and Living March 20th, 2007.

P.S. ragingpaseo, I hope you got a chance to eat after work.

It doesn't look like this show will be available in the United States. Discovery Travel and Living is an Asian/European Channel.

Helen: Have you guys tried offering this show to Travel Channel in the U.S.?

You guys should not eat sharks fin soup.

Thats a ridiculously extravegant dish that is doing untold damage to our oceans. There is plenty of good traditional asia food that is not destroying the environment that you should be trying. Just go to Indonesia and you'll be busy for several seasons trying new stuff!!

It's not illegal yet, but it is extremely bad for the ocean environment. Imagine catching a shark, cutting off only it's fins and then throwing it back into the sea where it may take several days to die of starvation. Now imagine this happening to hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions of sharks each year. Now ask yourself what is the impact on sharks from such wateful practices?
So apart from the cruelty to animals there is also a looming problem of species being pushed to the edge of extinction.

One word for this type of bahaviour - BAD!

This show is my favourite! Some people are saying that there are more than 13 episodes and I really hope that's true!
