I like the Australian ones, too. But the one stuck in my mind is where Ian eats stuffed groundhog somewhere in Mongolia... I think... Really funny!

How about Ian in New Zealand...?

The interactions with the Maori (singing, with his rendition of "Yesterday"), the exteme environments (the glacier hike to the cabin on South Island/the bubbling hot springs of North Island), the extreme sports (how 'bout that 'fly by wire' contraption he jumped on? I believe his quote was "can it get any more ridiculous?!" I think not, except for that scene when he was 'rat jumping' in Auckland)...

That was a fabulous piece of traveling! Thoroughly enjoyable.

As many years as this show has been running now and as many priceless moments there have been it's pretty hard to pick out just one episode as my all time favorite (no, impossible)

HOWEVER

If we were talking about a favorite moment, I would have to say Ian in Kirghizstan & Uzbekistan when he was invited into the yert and offered a sheep's eyeball... and ATE it Shocked as to decline would have been a terrible insult (and the man is a vegetarian to boot) his next morning summation of that experience had to be one of the definitive moments of my years of watching this series

My favorite was Ian in Uzbekistan.

I think that was the one where he ate the sheep's eye.

Yeah, that Chile show is a classic...the environmental extremes, the space observatory, the oddly misplaced German town (Frutillar?)...Easter Island was, well, Easter Island: amazing, especially the chat with the anthropologist at the end, explaining the rise and fall of those original inhabitants and the role of the Moari statues.

Bravo, Ian Wright!

I especially enjoyed
>Estelle Bingham's Istanbul city guide (it reminded me of my trip to Israel, it especially reminded me of the Muslim quarter),
>Ian Wright's Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Murmansk tour (I saw this one last year, and I became interested in Russia because of it),
>Ian Wright's Japan tour (I saw this when I was about 7 and it got me interested in Japan)
>Almost any episode with Ian. I remember seeing a lot of them when I was little, and becoming interested in travel because of him. The only episode I didn't like especially was his trip to Tahiti. The begining was good, but he seemed a little bored the rest of the time...

I can't really say, especially since many of the ones I most want to see, such as Iran, Syria/Jordan/Lebanon, Eithiopia and many from SE Asia, I haven't yet seen. But a random list of contenders would include, Oman and the Gulf, Hawaii, Egypt, French Polynesia, Ultimate Middle East, Peru, Ultimate Mexico, New Zealand I & II, Istanbul, Venice, South India and Rio.

Hi, really only just discovered Globetrekker on the Travel channel in the UK and I'm hooked. Educated and entertained at the same time. My favourites include Megan and Ian in New York and Ian when he fell off the boat after that under water wedding, I laughed so hard, thanks. Keep them coming Smile

The underwater wedding is definitely one of my favourites too! Apparently - according to the underwater cameraman - Ian really did lose the ring on the bottom of the seabed (albeit temporarily). Check out this clip on Ian's bio page:

Cool

Ya, i remember that show w/Zay and his hike. I felt sorry for him because it began to rain hard and the trail began to flood....the but scenery showing those many waterfalls was pretty awesome!

I'm quite fascinated about India, but afraid to go there. I loved when Megan visited the Ashram community and the camera caught them dancing - they seemed so passionate and committed to their beliefs and teachings.

Now that I have seen all the existing regular episodes (still missing 12 specials) I put together a list of my favorites by series:

Series 1: Morocco (IW);

Series 2: SW China (JS) & Turkey (JS);

Series 3: Outback Austrailia (IW), New York 1 (IW), & Peru (NG);

Series 4:Czechoslovakia & Poland (JC);

Series 5: Rio di Janero (IW), Sydney (JS), & Arctic Canada (IW);

Series 6: Deep South USA (IW), So Spain (CC), & Cambodia (IW);

Series 7: Central China (MM), Germany (JS), No Italy (MM), SW Austrailia (EB) & Tahiti and French Polynesia (IW)
Note: just hearing Ian say Tahiti makes that episode worthwhile; Very Happy

Series 8: Bejing (MM) & Istanbul (EB);

Series 9: Hong Kong and Taiwan (MM) & Tuscany (IW);

Series 10: Western Canada (ZH), Tokyo (IW) , & Florida and Bahamas (LT);

Series 11: Midwest USA (JS), Venice (JS), Indian Ocean Islands (IW), & England and Wales (IW);

Series 12: Las Vegas (IW);

Series 13 (so far): Los Angeles (MM)

As I posted in another thread, I have a spreadsheet I use to keep track of the episodes by series and alphabetically that I would be willing to share if there is a way to do so through the forum.

You can't - unfortunately - attach spreadsheets to this forum.

However, here are links to pages on our website where all our shows are listed by series and region:

That's a reeeeally tough question!!! I want to just say all of them, but that's no fun. So I'll tell you one scene (amongst many ...but I could just go on and on) that I think was absolutely incredible: Jellyfish Lake (I'm pretty sure it was Micronesia with Megan). I can't even imagine what it must feel like swimming there. the footage was breathtaking though Very Happy
I agree with the rest of you, the shows that you guys have mentioned (from the ones that I've seen...although I'm sure also the ones I haven't) were definitely great!
