Malaysia, in South East Asia, is a Muslim country
with a British colonial history. Although it's a land
of dense rainforests, where jungle tribes still live
as hunter gatherers, Malaysia has some of the world's
best golf courses set in the world's most beautiful
scenery.
Malaysia is a federation of states divided between
the Malay Peninsula to the south of Thailand
and half of the island of Borneo. It's a country
of wild jungles, hi-tech cities, and sophisticated beach
resorts. It achieved independence from British rule
in 1957 and, despite being predominantly Muslim, it
has a relatively open society with alcohol and the worship
of other religions permitted. Yet there are still some
very British habits practiced - and one of them is golf.
