and sunbathing. These journeys or pilgrimages are full of
mystery and devotion and are designed to reach the soul.  This
programme highlights the spiritual journeys our travellers
have experienced all over the world.
We visit temples like Varanasi in India and
learn about Hinduism and Sadhus; venture high into the Himalayas
to meet monks in rural Buddhist monasteries. Presenters stay
at ashrams, meditate and do yoga.
Then its on to the Islamic world of the Middle East home to
majestic Mosques like Istanbul's famous Blue Mosque.
We explore the three pivotal religions of Jerusalem
and witness 'bah mitzvah'. Our presenters join in the dramatic
Easter celebrations in Guatemala, the eerie
Semana Santa in Spain and re-enact the crucifixion
in the Philippines.
From the world's oldest churches in Ethiopia and the best-attended
Sunday Mass in Rome to a pilgrimage to Mecca and celebrations
with Inca worshipers in the Peruvian Andes, our presenters
