 Chef and restauranteur Bobby Chinn travels to the Land of Smiles to learn the secrets of Thailand’s street food.
His adventure begins by meeting Nora, owner of the world famous chain of Blue Elephant restaurants. Nora cooks Pad Thai for Bobby, a dish that incorporates all the flavours of Thai cuisine.
Bobby travels on to the ancient city of Ayutthaya where he boards a royal barge. On his journey down the Chao Praya River, he cooks Tom Yam Goong – a dish fit for kings. At the local night market, Bobby tries some deep-fried insects, guava with shrimp sauce, and pig’s blood soup.
The next day at the crack of dawn Bobby prepares Khao Tam (Thai porridge) as an offering to the local monks.
To round off his trip, Bobby discusses the concept of karma with a Bangkok monk and finds out his next life looks to be pretty dodgy!
