Chef and restauranteur Bobby Chinn checks out the vibrant city of Hong Kong where he kick-starts his journey with a unique breakfast – Snake Soup!
He then heads out to Aberdeen Harbour to cook a traditional Seafood Congee, a dish first made by the Vietnamese boat refugees when they sought shelter in this historic harbour.
Hong Kong was formerly a British colony and this has left its mark on the island’s cuisine and Bobby finds a Cha Chan Teng - a stall that serves a kind of fusion food which is a blend of East and West cuisine.
Next Bobby travels to The New Territories to meet local celebrity chef Toto who teaches him how to make a delicious Village Shrimp Fried Rice. Freshness is of the essence and Bobby has to literally catch the shrimps himself before any cooking can be done!
To end the trip, Bobby goes squid fishing by night in the waters off Sai Kung. |
